HANGING YOUR ARTWORK

Every Two Tides print ships ready to hang — D-rings and wire are already fitted to the back, so there's nothing extra to attach. How many wall fixings you need depends on the size of your piece.

How many fixings do I need?

  • XS & Small: one secure wall fixing is enough, mounted through the wire's centre point.
  • Medium, Large & Gallery: use two separate fixings. At this size, a single point can let the frame tilt or shift, so spreading the weight across two keeps it flat against the wall.

Setting it up

For XS/Small pieces, find your spot, mark a single point at the height you want the top of the frame to sit, and fix a hook or screw rated for the weight of your print.

For Medium and up, it takes a bit more precision:

  1. With the frame face-down, measure the gap between the two D-rings or evenly spaced between the wire.
  2. Mark that same gap on the wall, checking with a level that both points line up horizontally.
  3. Fix a hook, screw, or anchor at each mark.
  4. Lift the frame into place, lowering both D-rings or wire onto their fixings at the same time — a second pair of hands helps for anything larger.

Picking a fixing for your wall

  • Plasterboard: a rated picture hook, or a plasterboard anchor sized to your print's weight
  • Timber stud: screw straight into the stud if you can reach one
  • Brick or concrete: masonry plugs and screws, or a fixing made for solid walls

A few things worth knowing

Never use adhesive hooks and strips — they're not rated for the long-term weight of a framed piece. The same goes for small nails or any hook without a listed weight capacity. And for Medium-and-up sizes, resist the shortcut of hanging from just one point — the two-fixing setup is what keeps larger frames level.

Keeping it looking its best

Out of direct sun where possible, away from bathrooms or steamy spots, and dusted now and then with a soft dry cloth rather than glass cleaner. The mat and backing board are acid-free, so your print's protected from behind as well as in front.

Unsure about your wall type, or working with a larger piece? A professional installer is a safe bet.
